Company

The company behind the companies.

ByRoice creates new ventures, transforms existing ones and brings valuable ideas and enterprises back to life.

We are a venture architecture and 0→1 development company working across strategy, research, R&D, design, prototyping and business creation.

Our work may result in a product, service, platform, system, programme, brand or complete company. The form changes. The role remains the same: discover what should exist and build the first credible version of it.

Why ByRoice exists

Ideas are rarely limited by imagination alone. They become stuck between departments, disciplines and stages: strategy without design, design without engineering, research without a product, prototypes without a business and businesses without a clear next direction.

ByRoice was built to work across those boundaries.

Instead of treating strategy, R&D, design and venture development as separate services, we organise them around a single question: what must be understood, designed and built to move this from zero to one?

Eighteen years of beginnings

ByRoice is the culmination of an eighteen-year journey in ideas, products, brands, systems and business creation. Over that time, the work expanded across industries, but a consistent strength became clear: seeing possibilities early, connecting disciplines and building the foundation from which something new can emerge.

That strength now has a structure, a name and a company around it.

Create

Build what does not yet exist.

Transform

Find the next form of something that already does.

Revive

Recover the value in something the world has left behind.

How ByRoice is organised

The ByRoice Engine

The multidisciplinary centre for strategy, research, R&D, design, prototyping and venture architecture. It serves both external assignments and ByRoice’s own businesses.

The Businesses of ByRoice

New ventures and revived enterprises developed within the ecosystem, each following the technical, commercial and organisational path appropriate to it.

Independent companies

As a venture matures beyond ByRoice’s core 0→1 strength, it can gain its own leadership, team, capital and operating identity. ByRoice may remain a shareholder, strategic creator or long-term partner while the company grows independently.

Our operating philosophy

  • The client does not need to arrive with an idea.
  • Research should reduce uncertainty before scale multiplies it.
  • A prototype can answer questions that a presentation cannot.
  • Newness is useful only when it creates real value.
  • The product, experience, brand, business model and operating system must be designed as one whole.
  • ByRoice should remain strongest where ambiguity is greatest: the journey from zero to one.
  • When a venture needs a 1→100 operator, the right leader should take it forward.

Across industries, not confined by them

ByRoice works across digital platforms, enterprise systems, consumer products, industrial design, mobility, horology, media, education, civic systems, institutional intelligence, experiences, sport and advanced engineering.

This range is not a claim to know every industry in advance. It reflects a method: learn the system deeply, find the hidden opportunity, assemble the necessary expertise and create the first working answer.

Founder

Kiran Roice

Kiran Roice is an author, researcher and entrepreneur specialising in the creation of conceptual frameworks, analytical indices, products and ventures that make complex cultural, social, behavioural and institutional systems more understandable and usable.

He is the creator of the Cultural Distance Spectrum and the author of The Language Hierarchy, Kiss the Damn Frog and Between Missions.

Through ByRoice, he brings together eighteen years of cross-industry concept development, research, design and business creation under one venture architecture ecosystem.

What begins here

A company may approach ByRoice with a difficult problem. An entrepreneur may arrive with an unformed ambition. A family office may bring capital and assets. An institution may need a new system. A forgotten brand may still hold a future.

The starting points are different. The work is the same: find the possibility, give it structure and build the beginning.
